On June 26, 2017, the signing and opening ceremony of the "Suzhou University-Shanghai Xinyi Ruijie Nonferrous Alloy Co., Ltd. New Material Research and Development Center" was held at the Honglou Conference Center of Suzhou University. Zhang Fangjie, general manager and deputy general manager of the company, Fang Bingguo, chief engineer Yu Huigang, laboratory director Gan Zhiqiang, professor Zhang Hai, expert of the National Thousand Talents Program of Suzhou University, Zhu Qiaoming, executive deputy director of the Science and Technology Research Department, Ji Wei, deputy director of the Office of Domestic Cooperation, and Zhong Shengkui, deputy director of the Shagang Iron and Steel Institute, attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Gong Xuefeng, director of the Division of Scientific and Technological Achievements Transformation of the Ministry of Science and Technology Research.

He pointed out that the purpose of the R&D Center is to provide solutions to major technical problems of enterprises, provide technical support for enterprises to further develop the market of high-value-added aluminum alloy products, and cultivate technical backbone with forward-looking awareness and innovative spirit for enterprises.
